Maggie Simpson inadvertently shot Mr. Burns when he tried to steal a lollipop from her. In the ensuing struggle, Mr. Burns's gun fell from its holster into Maggie's hands, and fired. Mr. Burns survived; Maggie was not charged because police chief Clancy Wiggum decided that, as an infant, she was most unlikely to know how to operate a gun.
